I have cable and I’m not able to get all my channels, what should i do?

A: first of all, we need to check the cable connections.

If you are using a coaxial cable, make sure you have it plugged in into the ant. In jack on the back of your tv.

If you have a cable box with rca connections -that is yellow, red and white cables- make sure you have them coming from the rca output jacks of the cable box to the rca input jacks of your tv.

Once you checked the cable connections, the next step is to press the menu button on the remote.

Then press the volume - or + ( one or more times) to select an osd (on screen display)  menu and then press the channel - or + to select the option.

"preset" is the option you need to choose, then you need to select the option "catv" and once you did that, the last step will be to choose  auto search option. (this will began to search all the channels that have a signal).

I have a DVD player and i would like to be able to hook it up to my insignia TV, how can I do that?

A: in order to plug external devices such as DVD players, vcr's ,among others, we need the regular connectors which are called "rca" cables (red, white and yellow plugs).

On the back of the DVD player you need to plug the rca cables in the output jacks (video -for the yellow jack, and red and white for the audio out) to the inputs of the tv (video for the yellow input jack , red and white for the audio input).

Once you checked the cables , the last step in order to change the source on your TV, you need to press the "TV 1" or "TV 2" button on the remote, according to the inputs you used. (av 1 or av2).

On the other hand, if you would like to get a better quality on the picture you may use component cables (red, green and blue cables) . The way to hook these cables is the following:

·                     To get the picture you need: from the component outputs of the DVD or vcr player to the component jacks on the back of the tv  (y , pb , pr)

·                     To get the sound you need: red and white cables (from the rca) outputs on the back of the DVD ,vcr player, to the audio in 1 or 2 , on the back of the TV.

Once you do this, you need to press "ypbpr" button using the TV remote to select the component source.

I have a universal remote and i would like to program it so as to control the insignia TV with it. I don't have the code, what code does insignia have?

Insignia remote control codes are not included in universal remote schemes yet, because they are too new, and the codes have not been made available to the universal remote manufacturers.

However, the codes may be learned by any remote that has an ir learning function; this was successfully tested on sony 3000 series remotes, harmony, universal customizer, pronto neo.

How can I watch two different TV programs using the picture in picture function?

A: unfortunately there is no way to get two different tv shows on the same screen, since the plasma tv has only one tv tuner, and the picture in picture feature is designed to work only with a different input, for example a vcr, dvd player, camcorder, etc. In that event, you will need to press the pip button on the remote control, and then the a button to switch control between pictures. Bear in mind that pressing pip repeatedly will cycle through pip (picture in picture), pbp (picture by picture) and off.
